Century Rail Limited (CRL) is the visionary behind the African Railway Triangle Network Master Plan(ARTNMP), an infrastructure initiative committed to transforming Africa’s transportation landscape by establishing a continent-wide railway network platform. We believe that rail connectivity is the very cornerstone of economic integration, social cohesion, and industrial progress. For ARTNMP, it even goes beyond this, it lays the backbone upon which Africa’s Integrated Communication system, the African Single Fiber Optic System (AfSFS) will be layed, giving the continent a unified and affordable independent communication highway.

EXECUTIVE SUMMERY
2023 was declared the year of acceleration of the African Continental Free trade area (AfCFTA) by the
African Union (AU), indeed a lot of things were done on the surface, for example the AfCFTA Trade Guided
initiative (GTI) was launched in which goods were moved from Mombasa, Kenya to Tema, Ghana which
are both respective ports on the African land mass. Despite the fact that these goods were supposed to
take 3 weeks using shipping, they took a period of 3 months. The reason being that the transportation
means don’t belong to Africa therefore the goods had to go somewhere else around the world before
embarking on the journey to Tema Ghana.
Driven by the desire to see the rapid advancement of the African continent through industrial
reconstruction, as well as his understanding of the previous industrial revolutions whose backbone was
the rail, the writer conceived a strategic project called THE AFRICA RAILWAY TRIANGLE NETWORK MASTER
PLAN (ARTNMP). While the AfCFTA is a powerful tool with huge potential to transform African Lives not
only on the continent but also the Diaspora African hence Descent, the project, just like the biggest African
Shipping Tycoon Daniel McDan McKorley from Ghana said “Without transport and logistics AfCFTA will
never be successful”.
This observation underscores the urgency of concentrating on establishing a railway line to link the African
continent so that goods can rapidly move across the continent, it calls for the urgent implementation of
the ARTNMP with an investment of USD 100-150 billion in order to unlock upto USD 1.0 Trillion. With
Africa only trading at only 17% with itself compared with the rest of the world like Asia and Europe which
clock in at 50 to 60% or more. Africa’s Trade with itself is at USD 300 Billion, an increase in that Trade to
34% and 51% would unlock a further USD 300 and USD 600 billion.
The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has determined that enhanced, Tourism and Travel in Africa
could boost the African Economy by USD 168 billion but has a potential of 350 billion and ability to create
18 million Jobs as it is growing at 6.5% amidst the lack of an affordable means of transport like the
ARTNMP.
During the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) global summit held it Kigali Rwanda, Nov 2023, it
was further observed that; the “high cost of air travel stifle tourism in Africa”.
While these are hanging fruits of the project after its completion, the immediate benefits industries in
steel and cement to manufacture the Rails and Sleepers which would come as a package can not to be
overlooked, Jobs would accompany the construction process of the railway project across the continent
and Railway technology transfer would be guaranteed to selected Universities and Technical Institutions
across the continent, as a prerequisite since the Project is to be fully or majorly funded by Africans.
Because the funding is to come from Africa, all the profits would go to those Africans who have invested
and therefore, there would be no or only minimum repatriation, this finance model could be applied to
other continental projects like the USD 80 billon Inga Dam in the DRC.
Indeed, the Project has been presented to the AfCFTA secretariate in Accra and was followed by the
registration of ‘Century Rail Ltd’ Reg No: CS024760224 in Accra Ghana which would carry out the
coordination of activities for the full Implementation of the project to the maximum benefit of the African
People at home and abroad.
One of Century Rail’s important objectives is to bring together all the Important Stakeholders(Civil Society
Pan-Africanists, African Private Sector Shipping Companies Like McDan Shipping, AfCFTA, AU, AFDB,
AFREXIM, Railway Companies Like Alstom and CRRC) for the furtherance of this critical project upon which
the future development ofthe African Continent and its people worldwide will depend and pride restored.
